Emergency Dentistry

When it comes to dental emergencies, knowing what to look for can make all the difference. These urgent situations involve the teeth, gums, or oral structures and require immediate attention from a dentist to relieve pain, prevent further damage, or save a tooth.

Common dental emergencies include severe toothaches, knocked-out or chipped teeth, lost fillings or crowns, gum infections, abscesses, or injuries to the mouth. These emergencies often involve intense pain, bleeding, swelling, or difficulty eating or speaking. But don’t worry, we’re here to guide you through.

We are available 24 hours should you have a dental emergency.  Call our office 626-210-1110 or our WhatsApp number 805-304-0682.

Teeth Cleaning

Teeth cleaning is the process of removing plaque, tartar, and stains above, around, and just below the gumline. They can help prevent cavities, gum disease, and more serious oral health complications. As a preventative dental procedure, the yearly visits allow your dental hygienist the chance to look for problems early on before they become serious and negatively impact your oral health. Plus, they’ll polish your teeth to remove surface stains and leave your smile looking and feeling refreshed.  Plan to get your teeth cleaned at least every 6 months.

Dental Crowns

Dental crowns, crafted from a variety of materials, are custom-fitted caps designed to restore and strengthen damaged teeth. Whether you have a cracked tooth, a severe decay, or a large filling that needs replacement, crowns can provide durable protection.  We recommend zirconia crowns.  Zirconia is a white solid ceramic glaze and one of several newer materials that combine metal's strength with the aesthetic, tooth-like appeal of porcelain.

Root Canal Therapy

Root canal therapy is needed when the nerve of a tooth is affected by decay or infection.  In order to save the tooth, the pulp (the living tissue inside the tooth), nerves, bacteria, and any decay are removed and the resulting space is filled with special, medicated, dental materials, which restore the tooth to its full function.

Having a root canal done on a tooth is the treatment of choice to save a tooth that otherwise would die and have to be removed.  Many patients believe that removing a tooth that has problems is the solution, but what is not realized is that extracting (pulling) a tooth will ultimately be more costly and cause significant problems for adjacent teeth.

Root canal treatment is highly successful and usually lasts a lifetime, although on occasion, a tooth will have to be retreated due to new infections.

Dental Fillings

Dental fillings are restorative materials used to repair teeth that have been damaged by decay, cracks, or fractures. By filling in the affected area, fillings restore the tooth’s structure, function, and aesthetics. They help prevent further decay, preserve the natural tooth, and promote long-term oral health.

Dental fillings are used to repair teeth damaged by decay or other issues, restoring their shape, function, and preventing further damage. They are typically made from materials like amalgam, composite resin, or ceramics, chosen based on factors like location, size of the cavity, and patient preference.

Veneers

Veneers are custom-crafted, ultra-thin shells made of tooth-colored material that are bonded to the front surface of your teeth. They are designed to improve the appearance of teeth affected by discoloration, stains, chips, or misalignment, providing a natural and radiant smile transformation.

Teeth Whitening

Teeth whitening is a cosmetic dental procedure designed to lighten the color of your teeth and remove stains and discoloration. Using bleaching agents, our whitening treatments penetrate the enamel to break up stains and reveal a brighter, whiter smile.

Professional teeth whitening offers two primary methods: in-office whitening and at-home whitening kits. In-office treatments are typically quicker, involving the application of a high-concentration bleaching gel and sometimes light activation for accelerated results. At-home kits involve custom-fitted trays and a lower-concentration bleaching gel for gradual whitening over several weeks

Dentures and Partial Dentures

A denture is a removable dental appliance replacement for missing teeth and surrounding tissue.  They are made to closely resemble your natural teeth and may even enhance your smile.

There are two types of dentures - complete and partial dentures.  Complete dentures are used when all of the teeth are missing, while partial dentures are used when some natural teeth remain.  A Partial denture not only fills in the spaces created by missing teeth, it prevents other teeth from shifting.

A Complete denture may be either “conventional” or “immediate.”  A conventional type is made after the teeth have been removed and the gum tissue has healed, usually taking 4 to 6 weeks.  During this time the patient will go without teeth.  Immediate dentures are made in advance and immediately placed after the teeth are removed, thus preventing the patient from having to be without teeth during the healing process.

Once the tissues shrink and heal, adjustments will have to be made.

Dentures are very durable appliances and will last many years, but may have to be remade, repaired, or readjusted due to normal wear.

Dental Implants

If you have a missing tooth and it is impacting your comfort or your confidence, a dental implant could be your solution.

Dental implants have had a considerable impact on modern dentistry – offering a highly viable solution to replacing missing teeth. A dental implant is essentially an artificial tooth that is placed, or implanted, into your jaw where a dental crown is then capped on for a complete tooth that looks and even feels like a real tooth.  The best part is that the new replacement tooth will function as seamlessly as your regular tooth.

Dental implants can replace:

  • A single tooth
  • Multiple teeth
  • All of your teeth (implant dentures)

Dental implants benefit you by:

  • Preventing potential of Perio disease that could be caused by continuous bone loss
  • Preserving bone and stability for your teeth
  • Enhancing the appearance of your smile

Dr. Steven Singh has over 18 years of experience placing dental implants.
